OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Occupational therapy includes the evaluation, treatment and client/caregiver consultation regarding life tasks that are meaningful to the individual. Life tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Activities of Daily Living
- Home Management
- Cognitive and Perceptual Retraining
- Community Reintegration
- Safety Awareness
- Functional Transfers
- Mobility and Positioning
Environmental factors are assessed and modified as needed including adaptation of the home or living environment; training in the use of adaptive equipment; and the fabrication and skilled application of orthotic devices. Diagnoses treated by occupational therapy include, but are not limited to:
- Arthritis
- Neurological Diagnoses including:
- CP
- Stroke
- MS
- Post Polio
- Head Injury
- Hand and Upper Extremity Injuries including:
- Tendon and Nerve
- Ligament
- Soft Tissue
- Lymphedema
- International Certification in hymphedma management
- Orthopaedic Injuries
- Developmental Delays
- Burns
- Mental Heath
- Cardiac Issues
